Become a Commenting Rockstar with My 7 Tips!

Become a Commenting Rockstar with My 7 Tips!

Maybe, you’re already familiar with the power of Blog Commenting. But, if you’re not. Then, you’ve to know. Most folks think that commenting will gain them backlinks, let me aware them all, most times it doesn’t give you any dofollow backlink as by default wordpress blogs are nofollow. There are dofollow blogs too, but not so much where you can comment and gain a backlink.

Though, you don’t get backlinks from most, but there are some other Amazing benefits commenting GIVES with the exception of backlinks! Here they are;

  1. Lots of Traffic, Some Exposure
  2. Interaction with other fellow-bloggers
  3. Don’t hesitate, and ask at least one question to the author of post, that you’re commenting on (absolutely helpful to gain more knowledge, and get rid of doubts about various things)
  4. Try to answer others question, this will help you to appear on top commentators widget (if available) and also helps you to be a part of debate which is completely filled with knowledge
  5. Last (probably), FAME! If, you’ll help then more…

You’ve seen, what I’m getting and trying to get still. What are my goals I want to achieve through this simple work?
Here they’re listed already above, I’m getting most out of that list and trying to maximize benefits. But How that’s possible?Question arises, Right?

Well, I know the answer! and want to share it with you all my friends.

Here Answer is! Commenting in the Best Way, will let you get most out of the benefits I mentioned above. And, here I’ll share my own tips that I think can make anyone the Commenting Rockstar (in fact, I don’t guarantee but I can say, that it works if used properly)

Finally, here are my tips

Now, come to the main point that I want you to know. Believe me you can be a rockstar commentator, if tips are used properly.

#1. Never! ‘Great Post, Thanks for Sharing!’

We’ve been getting lots of comments with the text Great Post, Thanks for Sharing and other rubbish words, that really don’t add value and seems to be written just for the sake of one more comment today! huh, but they don’t get it approved from me (at least). I guess, same would be happening to their other rubbish comments, left on various blogs. Such commentators are then, appeared as devil in the blogosphere. Believe me or not, such bullshit commentators are just losing their respect and brand, and will be no longer appeared!

For them I can only say stop their stupid comments, and give comments that add value and are descriptive, that can impress the author, that are worth leaving.

Final: Never leave even a single comment with ‘Great Post, Thanks for Sharing’. But try to write lengthy comments, that add value, ask questions in the comment and take time to write it. Be positive!

#2. Avoid using default Gravatar

Don’t you have your custom Gravatar? If not, then you would be using default Gravatar which I think may be the worst mistake while commenting! Yes. People don’t tend even to read comments by a person, who didn’t have set up his/her Gravatar. And this will not benefit you in any way, just because of your Avatar! You’ve to use your real photo in order to get fame, traffic and replies, otherwise you’re commenting like a BOT! ;-) . Bots never have a Gravatar, and thus your comment most times will not be appeared.

Final: Use your real and best (if you’ve) photo as your Gravatar from today. And try avoiding such a mistake in future, this can lead to call you a SPAMMER!

#3. Do reply

If you gets a question while helping others, or on your own comment from anyone. Simply, you must have to answer to satisfy/help properly (this is the most important thing, don’t forget it!) Isn’t it? OK. You’re also ready for this too, but you’ve to know in first place, whenever there’s a reply ‘in response to you’. And that’s possible only through subscribing to comments on a particular post at a blog. Hence, you’ll now get emails from the site if there’s a comment on a particular post.

Final: Always tick the check box ‘Notify me follow-up comments’ to be subscribed, and that’s it.

#4. Take it as your Job

That’s what I do. Taking Commenting on blogs with a schedule as a job, makes me do this work more better. I reserve one whole day to do this, then stop! and start writing again. This works really faster, and beautifully awesome for me, and why I wouldn’t recommend you to do this too? Of course, I will. You’ve to be responsible, and a person who concentrates on his work not on Social Profiles.

Final: Do commenting on a regular basis (I mean, schedule 2-3 days for commenting I don’t say that do commenting for all 2-3 days, but trying to say you. Do at least 2-3 days commenting in a week, if possible) Hope you understand. Think, as you’re on job. But, do post valuable comments only.

#5. Impress Others

It means, that you’ve to make your speaking tune better and even impressing. The more you’ll speak in a better way, good manner you’ll get more fame, respect and last but not least, others will be interested in checking your blog too, to see what you’re! This can be done, by observing others writing way, style and tune. If you’re quite new here, you wouldn’t be knowing how to write more and better. Then, commenting = ideas! Try it as you’re writing, try impressing others, take as you’re a tutor. I believe, better commenting = better writing. So do it. ;-)

Final: Impress others, with the knowledge you’ve. Make sure, you don’t seems to be Arrogant. And write as you talk.

#6. Add Value

People are out there with very short comments (one liner comments). They’re commenting thinking that they’ll gain backlinks through it. Even I’ve been forbidden few commentators from doing this stupid work, and asked them to add some value into your comments. But, unfortunately, they just ignore my advice. I don’t want to reveal anyone’s name here. Nor, I want to say anything more to them with the exception of one Advice that ‘Commenting for backlinks is the waste of time, brand and lots of traffic, if they’ll comment like they’re true commentators, they can do more with it’ But, they’ll neglect it too, but my work was to aware them what they’ve to do in case they want to grow.

Final: Try posting lengthy comments, never one liner (at least never on our blog). Show your love through commenting, not by doing it for backlinks..

#7. Golden Tip

Install RSS Feed Reader to your chrome browser. What it does? Simply, it notifies you whenever there’s a new post published on a specific site (that you’ve added in your list). It’ll not work automatically, but you need to add various popular blogs it for whom, you want it to notify you. Here are some my tips, that I use to decide whether a specific site should be added.

  1. Firstly, do check site’s posting schedule (I’d recommend you not to add a site that publishes daily, except some you’re mostly interested in reading)
  2. Never add sites, that publishes 2-5 posts in a single day
  3. Add top ones in first place (i.e. Problogger.net, CopyBlogger.com and other sites that are in the same niche, you’re in)
  4. Don’t add sites that you don’t read, nor interested in

Will you follow?

I’ve written rocking tips (for me) just now and shared them all with you, I’m following them just to be a Commenting Rockstar. Yeah, how about you? Do you follow anyone of them?

[box type="warning"] We’re waiting to see your comments. Grant me to leave now. Please take time to check out our Comment Policy page, because we’re getting comments that are totally against our policy. OK?[/box] Thanks for Reading my post, Good Luck for your journey of Commenting Rockstar!

  1. I Was Waiting for someone to guide me with my commenting technique this RSS Feed Extension really does help me comment more on blogs and brand my name I try to avoid small comments but I Believe if a comment is of one line doesn’t mean its useless or has no value (not necessarily the case) but sometimes the a long question or statement is not required :) . Awesome Post BTW!

  2. Hey Mairaj,

Seriously you have done a great job. You have written an awesome article and what I like in your Article is your first point that do not just write great post ! Keep up the good work.
There are most of the bloggers who just make comments Great post and Big blogs do not approve those comments, You have to make those comments which add value to other users. Comments are not for saying good post, it is for adding any thing which web master has left.

    Thanks

    Saif

    • Hey Saif,

It’s good to see your here (maybe that’s first time comment from you)..
Glad you liked my work, it took my lots of efforts to get it done properly, and even better for guys like you.
Yes.. Absolutely, correct! Big Blogs don’t allow comments with words ‘Great Post, or other stupid words’, I just hate such bloggers. I think, all the top blogs have written comment policy page, to make comments stick to strict rules, they really work awesome..

Thanks for your comment my brother.

  3. Thanks for including the “Big List of Useful Blogs” in this articles. I’m already following almost all tips mentioned here and I personally like your Comments Policy page.

    • Hey Bharat,
I thought (still thinking) that Our Comment Policy, is not too useful, nor is filled with Strict rules. So, I’m surprised to see your comment with Liking Comment Policy page. Glad to know, you’re liking my list for extension, hoping it’ll get more downloads and will prove that the extension is rather awesome.

BTW, Thanks for your comment. I think, these all are tips that one must follow to maximize benefits of commenting.

  4. Mairaj, that extension should help! BTW, I was wondering that many, many bloggers have a “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” option, but very few have “Notify me of ONLY REPLIES TO MY COMMENTS”. What about that?

    • As you told me about ‘ONLY Replies to my comments’ check box, I thought when was the last time I saw that check box. And found that I’ve seen that check box, only on blogs with disqus or Intense Debate commenting system and never saw it on blogs with WordPress’s Comment system, so I’m unable to say anything about it.

BTW, If you checks it you can get emails only when someone comments on your comment (I mean, in response to you)..
You won’t be notified for other comments on the same post, where you would had commented.

Anyway, thanks raaj for your comment and letting me remember about this check box too.

      • Oops. Now that’s something unusual. Normally, there are plugins for that feature. For example, on my blog, the user doesn’t have to check any box. He/she automatically gets an email ONLY when their comment has a new reply. They can, however, select to be notified of all the comments on that post.

  5. Seriously I hate ‘great post’ ‘wonderful tips’, for those who comment using these words are comment marketers or commenters who trying to get links fast or any sort of rubbish.

If we comment without reading posts, we’re missing something to learn on that day, seriously.

We need to read completely the post and provide our insight to the author by our interaction, so that we can get tons of benefits from the back link.

Commenting is a best proven ways to get both benefits of back link and traffic, I learned to writing without grammatical error from commenting on other sites on regular basis and replying readers comments.

    Thanking you Mairaj :)

    • Seems that you’re doing blog commenting from a long time, and now showed what you’ve learned and what we should? Yes.. We’re not here just to comment for a kind of backlink, but for Traffic and some readers I power up commenting with some Great thoughts, and avoid comments that contains only one liner comments! I just hate them all, and trying to improve others comments.

That’s only the reason, I’ve written and published this post.

I’ve learned writing faster, writing better and finding ideas to write just through Commenting. I wasn’t never an expert writer, nor I knew writing even a single line.. But, now all this is through commenting with value, and lengthy comments.

I’m still trying to improve it more, and writing more..
Glad that you liked my post, it was written just for buddies like you’re.
And for those, who don’t know better writing.
Do more, better and learn more by reading.

Thanks for your comment, and letting me know how you got better writing, I’m really getting all this through writing more.
Now, I do write comments with word count about 900+ and this gets done too faster and I’ve no confusion while writing.

SO, commenting more.. You posted an excellent comment.

      • Back in years, when I started internet marketing career 2, I was not good in writing.

So I decided to implement my writing and read more and more blog comments and learned “How to make a sentence? and How to write comments using grammatical structures?”. Am still implementing my writing skills by commenting other blogs.

From my experience, if we read and write comments (as much as blogs we find on the web) using high level conversation, we can learn writing very soon. This practically work for me.

        Thanking you mate :)

  6. Mairaj I am following the same google chrome tool fro last few weeks and i am glad that you shared that tool with every one.

    • Deepak, I’m proud to have this extension explained on our blog and also happy to share that list for this tool. That’s completely awesome.
      Thanks for your comment mate.

  7. Saqib Ameen says:

Hi Mairaj, Got Your Post Link From Facebook.!!
Just After Reading The Title, I Thought That It’s Nothing More Than A Boring Post. But, When I Start Reading Your Post , I Just Keep On Reading.. Believe Me That’s The One Of Those Posts Which I Read Completely :D Because Before Reading This Post, I Had A (Bad) Habit Of Reading The Posts Title And Only Main Thing And Then Simple Leave A ” Great Post “, “Keep It Up”, “Hats Off”,”Keep It Up” Or ” Nice Sharing” etc Type Simple Comments And Some Times +1 Or FB Share. I Wrote “I Had” Cause No More After Reading Your This Article. I Think That’s The Reason Which I Mentioned Above Due To Which I Could Not Write Better. I’m Agree With Your Saying ” Better Commenting = Better Writing “.
And Your Way Of Writing Is Pretty Good. As You Write With Headings , In A Sequence , I Really Like It.
And One This I Would Like To Say After Reading This Post Is That” Being Rockstar Commenter, We Are Also Able To Create Trust On Our Fellows ( Who Also Comment On That Post) By Our Impressive Comment. And As A Result, They Would Like To See What We Write? And May Be We Get Many Other Loyal Readers..!! I Hope You Will Agree With That Thing….
And The Most Special Section Of This Post Is ” Bonus TIP “. I Never Heard About It’s Use Before. But In Fact, I Saw The Same Extension On My Friends Browser But I Think He Couldn’t Explain It’s Best Use.. And At The Last I Would Like To Thanks You For Sharing Your List..!! Really Awesome Post Man…..!! I’m Impressed………!!

    • Hey Saqib,

That’s your first comment here, and I think it’s the first comment you’ve written with your heart, efforts and thinking that the post helped you very much.
I’ve been seeing lots of commentators, commenting with the words, you’ve written some of them above (i.e. Great Post, Keep it up).

Believe, such comments will never help you in any way. You thought you’ll get traffic, backlink Right? But, you can see What benefits you the most, short comments or comments that impress others, and makes them feel you’re Trust worthy person. Which I think is a great thing for me ever.
      Really, you’re impressed! It seems, I’m just here to let you know that;
Short comments makes your name go down, and comments with words 400-600.. Yes.. Makes you what you were never (ever).

Thank You so much for appreciating my blog post in the best way, you must try that extension. But keep in mind that you’re using it to be updated of other blogs and to be first and best commentator, else you’re wasting what you even don’t know for now.
      Thanks friend.

      • Thanks For A Lot Of Advices Mairaj… And You Are Right That It’s My First Comment I Wrote With Efforts And By Heart Because This Post Really Helped Me…….. And The Main Thing Is Better Commenting = Better Writing…….!! I Think One Thing More ( More Carefully Reading = More Careful Writing )………!! But We Can Judge Any one From His/Her Comment That Either He Read The Complete Post Or Not……!!

        • Exactly.
If you’re guest posting on a blog, but don’t know How to steal others readers, then the tips I wrote are too helpful to reach them simply.
Impress others with your commenting way!

    • Seems Like you have started following Mairaj’s tips. Good to see that you have changed your habit. Its always good to add some value in the post by your comments.

      Great tips!

  8. Hi Mairaj,

I’m really strict now, if I feel comments left on my blog don’t add value, or just say thanks or whatever, they are instantly removed. It’s not the sort of environment that I want my blog to be associated with. I too dislike seeing the horrible gravatar images on a blog it makes me feel sick….

    • Hi Simmeon,

Thanks for reading my post on Commenting! I’ve already seen what you do, you’ve comment policy, and now going to be more strict.
That’s more! Yeah.. I’m seeing you to going more STRICT, that’s not bad thing friend.

  9. Well I have been hearing alot about blog commenting since starting of my blogging career but as far as my point of view is concern I don’t comment on many blog(I generally leave 2 or 3 comments per week only if i like the post or if i want to say something about the post).I dont bother about referral traffic because most of my traffic comes from search engines :)

Yes commenting really helps if your blog is new or if you want to build good relationship with your fellow bloggers.

As far as traffic is concerned I suggest you to focus on quality content than spending more time on commenting on other blogs. For few bloggers blog commenting may not add much value but for niche blogs like blogging commenting really helps ,nice post well written.

    • Imran,

I’m agree with you on Focusing on Quality Content ! But, Commenting = Writing. If you manage to write long, better, and impressing comments, think that it’s totally like a blog post except what it doesn’t publish on your blog, but publishes as a comment on other blog. Commenting will let you learn better writing very faster, if you don’t know it, else commenting will not be too helpful except the traffic it’ll give.

I’m forcing others to write comments valuable, but NEWBIES the most. Not ones who’re expert in writing Quality Content, like you’re.

      Thanks for your comment mate.

  10. I completely agree with this Mairaj, I know you personally are a comment Rockstar. Great tips and always read the post fully before commenting, it’s important

  11. Hey,

Great write up! What I don’t follow from your tips is: I don’t take blog commenting as a job (which I’ve to do asap). I always love your comments not only on my blog, but also on other blogs.

You add tremendous value to the posts. That’s what I like most in your writing and that’s what bringing me to your blog often.

    Keep rocking!

    • Hey Rahul,

You’re doing it in right way I already know. We’ve to do it, and I also do it (I mean, we’ve to comment whenever someone publishes a post). But, I don’t do it on every blog’s new post, but have some special blogs, where I’ve to comment as soon as I can, I don’t see if I’m writing something that moment. But, see that I can miss the opportunity to become first commentator.

And you know, your blog is there in that special blogs’ list always.

BTW, thank you so much for your comment and letting me know about my Comments! Actually, I do commenting just to improve my writing!
      Yes.

  12. I am actually new to commenting. I did not know about gravatars till recently and I added my image to it. I realised that comments were more accepted that way because it gives a face to the name and makes a lot of sense. I am not a fan of useless comments. I like to add some value. The RSS feed reader is a good to get those notifications. Thanks for these great commenting tips.

    • Custom Gravatar adds some extra value, energy in a comment!
So, without gravatar, it seems that you’re a SPAMMER! even you’re not. Anyway, you’re already doing something like a rockstar commentator, but have to improve it even more.

:) Thanks for your comment here.

      • Mairaj, I agree. There are some who not want to be seen but I think it looks bad that way. If one has nothing to hide then, why the veil. A picture of oneself gives credibility to a name.

  13. Hey Mairaj,
How are you and nice tips to be a comment rockstart just added Rss feed reader in my chrome browser.
One of my recent comment was deleted and you told me the reason that it was short. And I was really not aware from your blog’s comment policy. So read it today and got much tips to be a Nice and Attractive commentator.
Well Mairaj don’t you think that reading comment policy before commenting on your blog irritates your new visitors? Will be waiting to listen from you buddy.
    Regards,
    Raheemullah Khan.

    • Raheem,

I’ve seen your comments on many blogs, but without doubt you don’t do it to maximize your own benefits. And it seems you’re commenting for backlinks only, I’m sorry to say this all but it is. And you’ve to stop this! And need to do it like you’re writing a post for your own blog.

This is the best Advantage commenting offers, but many folks don’t get it.
Anyway, I’ve written comment policy to prevent comments that don’t add value. And for some other reasons. I don’t say that a commentator must read it before commenting, but asks him to read when he/she doesn’t get comment approved.

That’s an essential after failure on getting comment disapproved.
      Thanks for your comment.

  14. Yes, I do agree with your points Mairaj. We should comment on the blogs if we do have a special opinion about them. Commenting for getting backlinks won’t give you much exposure.

  15. The bottomline is “value addition”. While doing anything consider if what you’re doing will add some value or not. Be it a post on your own blog, guest blog or comments. If you’re not adding something new, sharing anything relevant or asking the right questions, then it means you’re are just spamming.

  16. Hey Mairaj Is there any firefox version of this chrome extension i don’t use chrome. and Everyone must follow your first tip. becuase your comment won’t get accepted untill you add some value in it

  17. Hi Mairaj,

Make an impact wherever you show up. Comment to add value. You become unforgettable. Awesome tips here.

Forget comment drive bys. Add value to the post. Help out your fellow blogger. Drive traffic to your blog. Prosper both parties.

Commenting is free, easy and just about the best way to generate targeted traffic in minutes. Leave an insightful comment on an authority blog. You might just gain 5, 10 or 20 readers, along with a ton of opt-ins.

    Thanks!

    Ryan

    • Oh.. Ryan, you know? I’ve really less traffic (less than 300 visits a day).. I know, that’s quite less, and I should try to improve it.
Ok.. I’ll, but for now. I’m for my own blog.

BTW, you’re commenting rockstar already, I’ve been seeing your comments on almost every blog, where I go to comment. That makes me impress, and comment left by you are not that. But, are totally filled with Value..

Anyway, thanks for your comment with some tips of yourself here.

      Thanks.

  18. Well yes, one should no just post senseless comments just for the sake of posting comments, it doesn’t work like that and these kind of comments mostly doesn’t get approved. Thanks Mairaj for this wonderful post and for the link to RSS Feed Reader for chrome.

  19. Mairaj – a wonderful topic to be discussed. Who doesn’t want to be a rockstar, right? Blog commenting is such a wonderful thing, but it is the factor that is mostly abused by bloggers. Well, some abuse it and some don’t know how to make good use of it.

Thanks for the wonderful tips again!

    • Hi Miss,

Can’t express my happiness to see you here at my little blog. Yes.. I’m quite glad to have you here. And too happy that you liked my list. Blog Commenting is what, one can do when there’s no guest posting he/she does, this is the best way for me to get some exposure, new readers and MORE traffic.

Thanks for your comment Ma’am, keep visiting.

  20. Here is great tips for Bloggers,by using this we can make our blogging good and never getting bounces.I think your comment should give sense and answer for post to be getting approved.Take it like a job and set up like a real hero.

  21. You’re right blog commenting will not get backlinks, but if comments are good enough, valuable, and add to the discussion then surely you would be able to gain good reputation and traffic to your own website as well. Writing short lines for me doesn’t necessarily mean a useless comment it depends on what kind of a post you’re commenting on, but I do agree great post and thanks have become such common words that they no longer have any value.Good points!

  22. Hey pal… Awesome article I must say.

I haven’t been doing much blog commenting and I have good traffic. Imagine if I started doing commenting on a regular basis? My traffic would be even greater and this is what I am going to start doing.

I will install the RSS Reader Extension and also download your list :)

    Thanks for sharing!

    • Hey Kharim,

Thanks for your comment buddy, that extension will definitely help you out the best, as its doing with me! Yes.
Hope you’ll love it, and will not be able to live without it. :D

  23. Blog commenting is so powerful if we are not just commenting to gain some back links. Always consider getting back links as secondary and try to to leave genuine comments.
I never tried to leave a lot of comments in other blogs… From today on-wards I am also planning to become a commenting rockstar.

    • hhhmmm… Sounds great and we love to see valuable comments, like you have posted here. Yeah! I’m agreed with you, that we never think about back-links while commenting, will they increase as well.

As you see how many features to comment on other blogs. Thanks for the comment and I like the word “I’m planning to become a commenting rockstar”.

  24. Hi Mairaj,

You shared a lot of great tips and pretty much all of it is what I do :) It does take some time to do everyday but in the end it definitely helps. I like tip #7 the most. I have to do this to keep up with all the interesting blogs I’ve been finding online.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Melanie

  25. Great Article Mairaj….
I am great fan of comments. It has tremendous potential to put your blog/website to next level.
Singe comment gives you a lots of benefit in the form of backlink, reader, relationship etc.

  26. What do I think? I think this is the greatest piece I have ever come across on commenting. I’m certainly going to make commenting my job.

  27. Hey Mairaj,
Blog commenting is a powerful traffic and networking tool. This is even bigger if you hit the commentLuv enabled blogs. However, to be productive in commenting, you have to really read the article. This will help you leave a reasonable comment that will attract attention both from the blow owner and other readers.

Thanks for giving the guides bro

    Enstine

    • Commenting is what one needs to be appear in the blogosphere in the beginning, and I think it’s more powerful than GUEST BLOGGING! Because they’re easy, aren’t taken too seriously, are written faster etc.
Enstine, thanks for your valuable comment. But, I’m really depressed that you said that commenting commentluv enabled blogs is more beneficial, I’m against it. Because, it’s happening only for our benefit. What about those, who aren’t using CommentLuv? Should they be neglected? Sorry to say, but I’d love commenting and advising to comment on blogs without considering that it benefits or not would be awesome, admirable etc.
      Thanks!

  28. I totally agree with you and writing good comments is more for your own good as useful and informative comments tends to bring a lot of visitors to your blog/website. That’s how i’ve been recently increasing my blog traffic and also increasing my Alexa rank as my blog is just 2 months old!

    • Arslanh, commenting is truly an awesome way to build relationships between a commentator and a blogger. That could lead to more and more better results, because your blogger owner will be more and more interested in hearing from you. It is also effective in guest blogging case.

  29. I agree with your tips . You can appreciate your commentors , by having something like “Top 10 commentors” or “Best Commentors” as they share their views about post which in turn improve your way of blogging and hence the traffic.

    • Never! ‘Great Post, Thanks for Sharing!’

Thats true. Actually most commentors use this. In my blog daily i got hundreds of thanks like this. It’s really a funny way of commenting and building backlinks.

You can be a Authority commentor. Every comment should include some real helpful information for readers. Then we can hope something good.

And most important think we are not machine. Daily hundreds of time we fill up captcha’s and proved thats we are not ROBOT. S robotic comment is not expected from bloggers. Be real.

      Cheers.

  30. Hi Mairaj Pirzada,

I always recommend people to not to neglect blog commenting because its always beneficial in many ways. any ways thanks for awesome tips.. would try all those in the list.

  31. Really very important points that you have described here & some of them i did not know which i knew here. I will follow your all the tips and i have installed the RSS feed reader also. Thank you bro

  32. Rakesh Kumar says:

These are some of the most important idea every blog commentator should know. but you forget to tell your readers like me where to comment. ? Did you get my point, as you mentioned in the first paragraph of your article, it is used to bring links to your site. but a link from a low profile blog will not bring traffic and authority to your site.
